Join us in our studio to explore the joys of resin art seascapes this Valentines day! 1 Ticket is for 2 person.

We will go through all the steps needed to make your very own, unique resin seascape. Our coastal artwork class gives you a taste of pouring resin by making a set of coasters. 

For the more adventurous among you, we have a variety of additional upgrades available for you on the day. After you've done your coasters, you can turn your newfound skill to pouring seascapes on one of our: side tables, serving trays or even your very own wall art piece. 

The course duration is set at 2.5 hours. This is ample time for you to arrive, receive a briefing and get your coasters coated in a seascape. We will allocate an additional 90 minutes for anybody that wishes to do another pour on any of our additional products we have in stock on the day. After the class you will be able to buy your very own resin kit to take home and start the next step in your resin journey. 

**Upgrades **
Optional additional products can be made after the coasters and include side table, 2x additional coasters, serving trays. Prices for upgrades vary depending on stock available on the day.

This course is designed for first time epoxy users. We have been pouring live edge epoxy pieces and using resin long enough that it is time to share all of the secrets we have learned (the hard way) with you.

The location was a bit far for me but once we got there we forgot the distance we drove to get there and had a wonderful time. This was a very fun workshop, and a nice introduction to all the things to be aware of when getting started with resin.  I really appreciated Richard's attention to detail and how keen he was to school us in how to do things correctly.  It felt like a proper introduction to the craft rather than just a one off gift-voucher experience.

The space is small and was very cold for my session, which was on a really cold day, but I never really felt warm enough.  I also felt like although it's great to make even the theory/information parts of the class interactive and participatory, for an introductory session it would be good to sometimes use the quizzing to prompt us to recall stuff we learned earlier, rather than leave us floundering over questions like "What are the 4 conditions for rein to cure well" when we haven't been given any prior clues.

I'll be doing part 2, and was very happy overall with the way this course was delivered.

The Rivershop offers a unique and creative two-part workshop focused on crafting resin charcuterie boards. In the first part of the workshop, you'll dive into the world of resin art, learning about different types of resins and pigments that create stunning effects. Your wooden trinket tray will not be ready to take home on the same day due to the resin’s curing time. I went to this class with very little knowledge of epoxy resin and its uses but had seen the cool effects it can produce on instagram so thought i’d try something knew and out of my comfort zone. Richard and his wife (and their daughter Esme) were so welcoming and friendly! I felt confident knowing I had support the entire time but the freedom to experiment and get on with it myself. 

Richard’s directions and little nuggets of advice throughout were really helpful. All the instructions were clear and we all went at a good pace. The resources were great and I was able to work on this lovely bit of yew wood and had a range of great pigments to choose from for the resin. Overall, it was really fun and informative and I was really pleased with the outcome of my piece.

This was a well structured, interesting course with a teacher who was clearly very knowledgeable about his craft. I really enjoyed learning the technical details of the process of making resin and playing with glue guns! It would be great to see the changes mentioned to reduce impact on the environment take place as I was a little uncomfortable using some of the disposable materials e.g. the wipes used to clean the table seemed like they could have been replaced with spray and a cloth.

We learned everything from making a mold to calculating the amount of resin we'd need to mix. The class ran smoothly and was very informative, and the venue seems perfect for what we needed.
