Join us at our workshop in South East London to make your very own unique resin and waney edge wood coffee table. We will teach you everything you need to know about this process from the mould set up, to preparing your wood, mixing colours and pouring resin. This course will take place over 2 consecutive Sundays and you will leave with a table you have designed and built yourself.

If you'd like to practice this process before joining us on the coffee table course, we recommend joining us for our beginners resin and woodworking course where you will make a mini version of the table.  

An apron, tools and materials will all be provided, but we do recommend you wear old clothes as resin can be messy business! 

The class will last approximately 6 hours over two consecutive Sundays.

Brilliant. Two days very much hands on from a true novice to acheive a beautiful table top.  Atrisan environment, light, airy, everything you need and when it comes to tools - the best in the market. Feeling like I'd done everything myself but also realising how Richard provided instruction, guidance as well as small nudges and artistic insightul encouragement to maximise both our enjoyment and recovery from our mistakes throughout.

This was a very fun workshop, and a nice introduction to all the things to be aware of when getting started with resin.  I really appreciated Richard's attention to detail and how keen he was to school us in how to do things correctly.  It felt like a proper introduction to the craft rather than just a one off gift-voucher experience.

The space is small and was very cold for my session, which was on a really cold day, but I never really felt warm enough.  I also felt like although it's great to make even the theory/information parts of the class interactive and participatory, for an introductory session it would be good to sometimes use the quizzing to prompt us to recall stuff we learned earlier, rather than leave us floundering over questions like "What are the 4 conditions for rein to cure well" when we haven't been given any prior clues.

I'll be doing part 2, and was very happy overall with the way this course was delivered.

**Takeaway:**
Your wooden trinket tray will not be ready to take home on the same day due to the resin’s curing time. We went to this course with my partner and we loved  it. Richard was very helpful and friendly and had lots of knowledge to share with us. We thoroughly enjoyed it, it was great fun! We will definitely be returning with the new classes and would recommend to anyone who wishes to learn about resin.

Was not a cutting board - fair warning. I prefer the class as what it was honestly: we chose a couple pieces of scrap wood and filled the gap between them with resin, learning all about it in the process.

Great intro to pouring epoxy resin. If you’ve seen the instagram & youtube vids and want to know how to do it for yourself this is the course. There is no woodworking involved, you’ll make a mould and pour the epoxy. Richard is friendly & knowledgeable.

Really interesting introduction to working with wood and epoxy.  Richard (the tutor) was very friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything clearly.
The workshop is well equipped and laid out and everything was ready to go when we arrived.
Would recommend to anyone with an interest in starting a new hobby or sideline.  Richard made some great recommendations on where to get the best materials and explained difference between the types of epoxy resins, what they can be used for (and importantly what they can't be used for!)
Hopefully Friendly Forces Courses will be expanding their offering for more advanced workshops (there was mention of a longer course where a stool or coffee table could be created).

Richard The tutor was patient, and friendly, but it wasn’t a chopping board as advertised on the site.  It was great to learn the tips and tricks of resin pouring, even if the finished piece  is on the small side using a couple of offcuts of wood.

I'd never used Epoxy resin before and didn't know much about it, but Richard took the time to explain everything as we went and was more than happy to answer all our questions. He also gave us loads of hints and tips for how best to continue working with resin ourselves at home. Would highly recommend this course!!

The course leader was informative and relaxed which made for a very enjoyable day.
